In a night full of action, Foles was the shining star as the Philadelphia Eagles
thrashed Minnesota Vikings 38-7 to advance in the NFC championship. His performance, without a doubt, raises the Eagles odds to Win Super Bowl. They now proceed to face New England
, a team that outmatched them in a similar meeting back in 2005.

Things have not always been bright for Foles, who has come a long way since last season. The team’s new regime seems to have worked well for him as he has had a momentous performance. Coming into the playoffs, not many people expected such performance from him.
On his part, Foles has attributed his success to the solid teamwork and support in the whole camp. He reckons that his resilience and the critical support of the whole Eagles family have enabled him to tap into the best of himself.
With a strong offensive play, the Eagles gave Foles the best chance to maneuver a hapless Minnesota defense that was completely disoriented. With numerous throws and three touchdowns, the deal was sealed and Foles was able to display his class.
Coach Doug Pederson is impressed and elated about Foles performance and the team’s defense. Having seen Foles struggle through a lot, the coach has nothing but admiration for the star of the night.
The Eagles dominated all night leaving the Vikings with nothing but desperation. The Vikings loss means that they do not get a chance to experience the Super Bowl in the own turf – a feat that would have been a first. They now settle for a crown contest, something that the club owner welcomes.
While the Vikings started off strongly, a keen Philly side did everything to avert the early onslaughts. The defense made a couple of disruptions and blocks that lifted the team’s morale and turned the scales against their opponents.
Foles capitalized on the defensive efforts of his teammates; Chris Long and Patrick Robinson, to drive the Eagles to a strong lead.
The weak focus on turnovers was the ultimate undoing for Minnesota. In a season where such errors have become costly for this team, only a few mistakes were needed to leave them at the mercy of their opponents.
A blindside and an exploitation of the lacking coverage was all that was needed by the Eagles to get to 24-3 by halftime. By the final quarter, the Eagles were completely out of reach with a score of 38-7. Excited Eagles' fans cannot wait to face Patriots at the Super Bowl as was evidenced by their chants during the game.
In overall, the Eagles were a better team as the game advanced into the last half. The in-game statistics were great for most of the team members. Foles had great passes, Jeffrey made several good catches and so did Torrey Smith.
On the other side, Keenum has a rough time, being clumsy and contributing negatively to a weak and ineffective Vikings defense. The upcoming match at the Vikings home turf is a tussle between two other teams for the Lombardi Trophy.
As for the Philly Eagles, it’s all set for their Feb. 4 date with New England for the Super Bowl.
