Lane Johnson, the right tackle of the Eagles
, continued to notice a level of disrespect for some time. In fact, it began with the QB Carson Wentz ending up losing the season. He was fine with this, but the problem began when his Eagles (13-3) began being presented like the Cleveland Browns
. This is also one of the elements impacting the Eagles odds in the upcoming games. The same team is seen as the underdog for the game with the Falcons (10-6) that will take place on the coming Saturday.
Eagles vs Falcons

Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia
In fact, they are NFL’s first top seed that is entering as an underdog in the playoff game. Johnson said that he would be rather picked as the one who will lose than a person that will win. He stated that it was clear to him that everyone is seeing the team as the weakest and that he has no quarrel with that. In his view, the same is good, especially if the other teams are sharing this assumption. But, he said he believes it will all be shown on Saturday, because his team is excited.
There is a lot of interest in the game, even though many doubted the team, especially since they lost Wentz to a knee injury against the LA Rams
. These made Johnson take offense and even go for a media boycott that did not last a very long time. According to him, the team was 12-2 at that time and they were still treated like the Browns. He realizes this happens and even though they do not like it, the same motivates them, especially when the media writes poorly about them. Now, Johnson believes it is the best motivator out there. On Saturday, he is expected to play most of the match against Vic Beasley. Atlanta’s pass-rusher managed to get 15.5 sacks in the previous season and 5.0 in this one.
Beasley is just one of the opponents for the Eagles’ right tackle who believes he does not fear any opponent at this stage. This season, he faced down some of the top rushers including Von Miller, Ryan Kerrigan and Khalil Mack. According to Johnson, after all the players he faced in his career, there is nothing new to see because he seen them all. Without any unknown, he said he feels confident but still respect all of his opponents. He also earned the respect of others, while the lack of respect the team is getting is nothing new in the Eagles’ locker room.
This is why Johnson believes there is a lot of players in that locker room who have been treated this way and now want to prove those doubters wrong. He also noted that Nick Foles, the backup quarterback has not been able to throw 400 yards on a regular basis, which is why the team’s offense has not recovered from the loss of Wentz.
Still, Johnson has faith in the replacement QB, who will be having his fourth start since he replaced Wentz. Thanks to some intense practices that are part of the preparation for Saturday, the new QB could be able to overcome all these difficulties. For now, Johnson is enjoying the doubters, saying that he would rather have these than those who would be certain that they will win the upcoming game.
